Special Recognition Award
Nathan makes the implementation of Indian Education for All a priority in his classroom by including American Indian culture into his lessons. He is very diligent regarding the self-esteem of his students; he praises our students’ efforts and states the importance of learning their American Indian culture. He not only attends but also participates in dance practice with Sandstone Elementary’s American Indian dance group Soaring Eagles, but after school he also plays traditional games with the students.
Nathan forms amazing connections with his native students and their families. His direct way of interacting with Indian families that produces positive results. He does a great job of helping students connect to the curriculum and become more invested in their learning.
