Both of these sites give information about the Montana Advisory Council for Indian Education (MACIE).  The MIEA often collaborates with the MACIE on activities and advocacy.  A representative from MIEA sits on the MACIE.  The MACIE was established by the Board of Public Education and the Office of Public Instruction to act in an advisory role to them in matters affecting the education of Indian students in Montana.  The MACIE advocates for cooperation among tribal, state, and federal organizations, institutions, groups and agencies for the express purpose of promoting quality education and equal educational opportunity for Montana's Indian students.

The Resource Center a NMAI's George Gustav Heye Center, New York, houses a library of approximately 5,000 books, and a collection of approximately 20 periodicals, including Native newspapers and publications, and maintains several information databases, as well as extensive audio and video collections.
