BIO:

Patty has recently moved from Browning to Missoula.  "First time living off the Blackfeet Rez in 25 years.  The whole world has changed in that time."  She has most recently been the Blackfeet Tribe Family Services Department Director and Coordinator of a Tribal Children's Mental Health Planning grant from SAMHSA.  Also administered welfare reform for the State of Montana as the Glacier County Office of Public Assistance Director from 1996 to 2001.  Has  done private consulting since 1983, taught human services courses at Blackfeet Community College since 1980, worked at Blackfeet Head Start and for Blackfeet Higher Ed.  Raised eight children, aged 15-29, in Low-Rent and at Cut Bank Creek; parented all through Browning Public Schools beginning in 1979.  Has Bachelor's degree in Social Welfare from UC, Berkeley, 1971.  Graduate work at Berkely in Community Mental Health and Community Organizing.  Intends to go back to school at U of M in Muldisciplinary Studies, focusing on Cultural Resiliency.
