"Reducing the high rate of high school dropouts of American Indian students and providing equity in educational services for Indian students are my priorities. We must work to find solutions to allow more of Montana's Indian students the opportunity to receive a high school diploma," Juneau reports. She and her husband, Stan Juneau, live on the Blackfeet Reservation (Browning). Carol is a member of the Mandan and Hidatsa Tribes of North Dakota. Carol has been active in MIEA since its inception in the 1970's. She is currently serving her 3rd term as a Montana State Representative. Carol is currently is retired from a long career in American Indian education including both tribal and public educaiton. Juneau graduated from Eastern Montana College and earned a masters degree in Educational Administration from the University of Montana in l980. She was active in the development of the Tribal Colleges and served as the first President of Blackfeet Community College (l976-l983).
She was recognized as one of six of the states first National Milken Educators in l993, received the Distinguished Alumna Award from Eastern Montana College in 2000, and was recognized by the Montana Indian Education Association as Educator of the Year.
